I am teaching Science, Social Studies, & Writing in grade 6 for 2015-16 school year.
I am excited to be teaching in ISD 197! After 20+ years of teaching in Minneapolis Public Schools and living in ISD 197 I am thrilled to be teaching in my own community. This is my third year at Friendly Hills Middle School and my 25th year teaching.
In Minneapolis I taught at the elementary school, middle school and high school level. I spent 12 years teaching middle school students and they are my favorite age to teach.
I grew up in Mendota Heights and have lived in the area most of my life. I went to the College of St. Benedict for my undergraduate degree in Education. During my junior year in college I studied in Cannes, France. I earned my Master's in Education degree at the University of Minnesota.
I am married and have 3 children. I love spending time with my family, biking, playing tennis, traveling and enjoying the great outdoors during the 4 beautiful seasons in Minnesota. My favorite book from childhood is Bridge to Terabithia, by Katherine Paterson. Living GREEN is a passion of mine. I lead the LIVE GREEN team at FHMS and we learn together with a goal of challenging and informing our FHMS community.
