Grade 8 - High School Device Form for 2016-17
Grade 8 - High School Student Device Form for 2016-17
Posted on 05/13/2016

Before the start of the 2016-17 school year, Henry Sibley High School is collecting information from all current 8th grade students (incoming 9th grade) about their intent to use a school-owned device or bring a device from home. Please complete the form below and return it to your middle school’s main office by June 8. This form can also be filled out and submitted online at

Like other schools in District 197, Henry Sibley High School has begun its shift to a personalized, digital learning environment (electronic textbooks, web-based curriculum, a robust WIFI network, etc.) which creates the need for students to use a device in and outside of school to access course content, complete homework, collaborate and communicate with classmates, conduct research and more.

All Henry Sibley students, regardless of their financial circumstances, have two options:

  • Use a school-owned device – Students will be provided with a computing device in the fall to use throughout their four years of high school. The device will be assigned specifically to the student who will need to bring it to school each day. School devices are a mix of new, currently owned and re-certified laptops, Chromebooks and Macbooks.
  • Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) – Students/families bring a laptop (not a tablet) to school that they currently own or purchase that meets the minimum requirements to use during the year in class each day.
Information regarding technology at Henry Sibley High School has also been sent to families by mail.
