I have been teaching in District 197 since 1992.  I taught social studies at Henry Sibley from 1992-2008.  I began teaching at Friendly Hills Middle School in the fall of 2008.  I am an avid reader and love learning!

I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Studies Education from Gustavus Adolphus College. My Masters Degree is in Teaching and Learning from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.  I also earned my administrative license from Saint Mary’s University.  I hope to earn my Doctorate in Education after my children get through college.  With my boys being 16 and 20, I am not many years away from being able to take that on!

In my spare time, I enjoy watching my boys play baseball and taking road trips with them.  With my husband (Mr. Lufkin, who teaches math at Sibley), I am actively involved in leadership positions in both the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk and the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.  I am passionate about service and helping students find their passion.
